Please do not hesitate to contact your advisor for further assistance! Once new officers have been chosen, make sure to provide your organization’s advisor with officer information to be updated in the student organization database maintained by SAC.

Co-Sponsoring Update
To better support student organization events, co-sponsoring organizations agree to review and respond to co-sponsorship applications at least three weeks prior to events for applications submitted at least a month prior to events. If on a case-by-case basis co-sponsoring organizations are not able to maintain this promise, they will contact the individual organization to alert them of the application’s status.

For questions about the student organization registation process, please call your organization's advisor at 202-994-6555 or email orghelp@gwu.edu.

January 2010 Spotlight Winner:

Caribbean Student Association

Caribbean Student Association In the wake of a devastating earthquake that rocked the island country of Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, the executive board of the Caribbean Student Association put together a week of activities to raise awareness and needed money for the survivors of the quake. The week began with a CSA sponsored planning and initiative sharing meeting to combine assistance efforts of over 145 student leaders.   An interfaith prayer vigil, which hosted our President Dr. Steven Knapp, was held one week after the quake to remember the lives that were lost.  The week ended with “Swipe Your GWorld for Haiti”—a fundraising initiative that allowed students, staff and faculty on the Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon and Ashburn campuses to donate colonial cash to the American Red Cross and Project Medishare. The CSA led Haiti recognition week activities raised over $7500.  Members of the CSA e-board now serve as student representatives on the university-wide Haiti Relief Oversight Team to assist in the planning and implementation of a sustained university response over the upcoming weeks, months and years. We salute the efforts, hard work and selfless determination of the Caribbean Student Association by awarding the group the January 2010 Spotlight Award.
