    Things to Consider Before Buying a Cat

    Maybe you’re lonely
    and you’ve considered
    buying a cat. 
    They’re soft and sweet,
    yes, but like cars
    or homes or children,
    there are hidden costs.
    Extra keys for the pet sitter,
    peroxide, new socks,
    litter, stitches. 
    And on Saturday nights,
    coming home from the bar,
    an extra question:
    Are you allergic to cats?
