    Contributor Biographies

Jessica Arconti is a senior that like writing poems sometimes and thinks that Wooden Teeth is fantastic.

Ulysses Bray is from Wayland, Massachusetts.  He rose to national prominence by taking Forts Henry and Donelson in 1862, and is widely acknowledged for his love of techno and mohawks.

Leah Goldberger is a Junior majoring in Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Semitic Languages and Literature. Born to Russian parents, she is first generation American and hails proudly from hazy Brookline, MA. Her recent summer-long hiatus from her on-going love affair with Semitic, Romance, and Slavic languages in order to connect with her Anglo mother tongue has concluded in a series of short stories written in the warm New England shade. She would like to thank her father for his immeasurable creativity, her mother for her unfaltering encouragement, and her Murka for being a steady muse. Leah has since ended her brief flirtation with English and has returned to her true love, Semitic languages. The wedding is projected for next June, under the Negev sun.

Amanda Huminski is a senior Women's Studies major on the verge of entering the real world. After graduation she plans on persuing her interest in poetry, as well as her interests in Super H Mart, phenomonolgy, experimenting with stir-fry, and playing Tetris.

Lee Lubarsky is pretty sure that he is one of the few Elliott School alumni with a minor degree in poetry. He currently lives in Queens, NY with his fiancĂ©e who is not a dog person. Lee is equally thrilled to see his work appear in Wooden Teeth and to be writing creatively again.

Lesley Sagalow is a freshman who likes Marshmallows, Maps, and Mackenzie's purple nail polish that sits on top of the Microwave.

Monica Sanchez is a junior in the Elliott School, self-proclaimed weekend warrior, music connoisseur, and the proud owner of a turkey billingham.

Lianne Schmidt is a senior unprepared for life after college, but with a love for all things Irish, as is evident in her two photos. She sometimes likes run-on sentences.

Nada Shawish is an English Creative Writing senior at GW, and she is getting tired of explaining that Palestinians are people, too. She hopes the camera has captured it without words, this time. "Finding Treasure" was taken in Palestinian territories near East Jerusalem this last summer.

    j.j. silverstein is from Milwaukee!

Natasha Simons is smiling with her eyes. Her mother wants her to tell you all she sang with perfect pitch when she was three. This is not true.

Emily Werboff is a junior majoring in Art History with a secondary field in Business Administration. She has a penchant for grassy knolls and playing in inclement weather. She probably won't ever grow up, but if she has to, she wants to make a living being a tortured artist and sail around the world on a yacht with her friends.

Aude White is from Brooklyn. She first started drawing in high school as a means of staying awake in classes.

Kara Wright is a junior at GW. She is a journalism and mass communication major and creative writing and communication minor. She has been attempting to write poetry since grade school, but only recently, with the help of the GW Creative Writing program, has she felt that her attempts weren't totally in vain. Kara's favorite writers include Edgar Allan Poe and Sharon Olds.
