Iraq

War Child Canada is working with their local partner, Muslim Hands, to rehabilitate local public schools, improve educational resources and infrastructure to support the education and healthy emotional development of approximately 2,000-3,000 children. The project will also focus on capacity building professionals and women to better equip them to care for children both physically and psychologically.

Northern Uganda

War Child Canada, through the Acholi Education Initiative (AEI), supports child-mothers by providing scholarships for education, and materials such as school uniforms, books and pens for the duration of their three-year secondary school program. Girl-mothers are given access to psychosocial support, counselling services and support to meet their basic needs such as food, shelter, childcare and healthcare.

Southern Sudan

In partnership with South Sudan Youth Participation Agency (SSYPA), this War Child Canada project promotes effective and meaningful youth involvement in the development of their communities. It works to strengthen the administrative capacity of SSYPA, a network of 47 youth organizations in southern Sudan and facilitates collaboration among its member organizations.

Sierra Leone

War Child Canada  is working in close partnership with iEARN Sierra
Leone and the Centre for Coordination of Youth Activities (CCYA) to provide
former child combatants, and other young victims of war, with necessary life skills support, encouraging youth participation and mobilization to help them grow into productive, responsible and self-sufficient adults.
