War
Child GWU is recognized by War Child Canada as a student organization
which shares the same goals and views as War Child International. We
act as a liaison with War Child Canada to help spread the message
and increase awareness throughout The George Washington University
community.
As
War Child GWU is a new organization on campus, we are looking for all
our members to be instrumental in guiding the direction of the group.
We want all those, who are willing, to express their ideas and opinions.
In
the past 10 years, more than 2 million children have died, 12 million
have been forced from their homes, 5 million have been disabled, and
millions of others have been psychologically scarred by war. What can
we do?
It
is our duty to increase awareness and support of War Child Canada's
projects while also tackling projects of our own. Member participation
is crucial, for we look directly to them for creative ideas to raise
money, awareness and support. Each month we are given a featured theme
with project ideas from War Child Canada's No War Zone
(www.nowarzone.org). This year's theme is 'Peacebuilding'.
Please
help us help those who are bringing humanitarian assistance for
children affected by war around the world. Join War Child GWU!
