joint gbm with ASA
Join VSA and other co-sponsoring organizations as we participate in ASA's LAST GBM of the SEMESTER! In light of the holiday spirit, all attendees will be making PB&J sandwiches to donate to a local homeless shelter. Note, there is no December GBM for VSA so come out for a good time and to meet new people! The event will be held at MSSC 209 on December 4, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

On another note, We Should Never Meet play tickets have been printed! If you want to purchase your ticket early, please see or contact any executive board member. Tickets are still sold at the door so please save the date!

adopt a family
GWU VSA is participating in the GW Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service's Adopt a Family program. Some of our members spent their Black Friday shopping excursions to help sponsor gifts for an adopted individual. If you are interested in giving back to the community and signing up for the program, please visit this information page. The last day to sign up is November 27, and the drop-off date is December 4.

letters to Vietnamese students
GWU VSA is planning to write some "pen pal" letters to middle school students in Vietnam. We will be handwriting personal letters to 59 different students from Đoàn Thị Điểm School (located in Hanoi) so that they can practice English. If you are interested in writing some (and getting letters in return!), please contact our VP Emmeline at hae[@]gwmail.gwu.edu.

The last day to sign up for the pen pal program is Friday, November 23 at 11:59pm.
Names will be given to potential writers on Saturday, November 24. The last day to hand turn in your letters is December 9. The more participants there are, the less letters we need to write per person! :) Please sign up if you are interested.

Anh Chi Em Dinner SUNDAY!
Come out THIS SUNDAY for GWU VSA's annual Anh Chi Em Dinner. Each eboard member will be slaving in the kitchen to bring you their top-chef meals, including American and Vietnamese delicacies. Join us as we give thanks to you all for supporting us. This event is completely free. Come with an empty belly!

MSSC 209 @ 7PM
Sunday, November 18

Anh Chi Em Potluck also marks the beginning of our donation collection towards our philanthropy project with UNAVSA. This year, all VSA's in America will be supporting an organization called MEMO. Medical, Education, Missions, and Outreach (MEMO) is currently working on a major project to increase awareness to and vaccination against Hepatitis B in Vietnam. 1 in 4 Vietnamese people have the disease.

Please bring any loose change or bills you may have to help support the cause! We would greatly appreciate it.
