GWTV is the student run television station at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. The station transmits on a closed-circuit channel throughout GWU facilities and residence halls and puts most of its content online at GWTelevision.com.

GWTV is a registered student organization of the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. An entirely student run station, GWTV is under the University's noted School of Media and Public Affairs.

As an organization, GWTV produces numerous programs including the weekly news magazine program, GWeekly, now in its third semester on the air. The station also produces other series including a periodic public affairs talk show, Upfront, and a weekly sports debate program, Unstoppable.

In addition, GWTV also produces longer form public affairs programming as part of its In Focus series. In January, the program featured a in-depth look at the University's new president, Dr. Steven Knapp. For the annual Student Association elections, In Focus featured interviews with all of the presidential candidates and broadcast, for the second year in a row, the SA-Hatchet debate.

In October of last year, GWTV produced and broadcasted its first ever documentary, taking a look at the annual production of The Rocky Horror Show here on GW's campus. GWTV also films and airs student theatre productions on Encore, as well various campus events, like the recent speech by presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on campus.

The station also broadcasts the weekly SMPA newscast, The Source, both on air an online. Additionally, GWTV airs the GWU produced interview series The Kalb Report, featuring iinterviews with famed newsmaker Marvin Kalb. GWTV has also partnered with the student television station at nearby American University, ATV, to air some of their programming as well.

In January, GWTV launched GWTelevision.com, a completely new web site that showcases the work of the station's members. Through the ONAIR/ONLINE portal, visitors can watch entire GWTV productions online, from start to finish.

Located four blocks from the White House, The George Washington University was created by an Act of Congress in 1821. Today, GW is the largest institution of higher education in the nation's capital. The university offers comprehensive programs of undergraduate and graduate liberal arts study as well as degree programs in medicine, public health, law, engineering, education, business, and international affairs. Each year, GW enrolls a diverse population of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 130 countries.
