Bhangra Blowout

Bhangra Blowout is the biggest competition of its kind in the country. Sponsored by the South Asian Society, Bhangra Blowout culminates a weekend full of programming that takes a year of planning and the coordination of the efforts of over 30 E-board members. Student performers from universities such as VCU, Rutgers and Columbia all competed in front of a crowd of almost 4, 000 people to be considered the best of the best Bhangra teams in the nation. Through fundraising efforts the South Asian Society raised over $30,000 from sponsors such as McDonald's and Hilton Hotels.The South Asian Society is spotlighted for their excellence in representing the rich culture of South Asia.
