Alexey Mitko's Bio

The most interesting part about Alexey Mitko is that he is an international student. He was born in Moscow, Russia in 1988 and lived there until he turned 14. At this point Alexey decided and was encouraged by his parents to persue an international education, starting with a bording school in Switzerland. Upon receiving his diploma, he decided to continue with the path of personal self refinment he has choosen and came to GWU in 2005. As a member of 2009 class, Alexey has entered his senior year filled with same aspirations and worries as many of his fellow piers. Reflecting back on his college years Alexey said: " College was a very vibrant experience for me, especially here at GW, where campus is so colourful and exciting. College experience as a whole is a growing process, which really does not depend on how much time you spend here, but on how much time you have left. Once you see your graduation day on the horizon, you gain a certain degree of realization and try to get as much from college as you possibly can before you gradute. For me that translated into learning more about life in my first two weeks of being a seniour than I did during my freshman year. As for Sigma Nu, it was my home away from home, the place where I met most of my friends and the place I don't regret about attending. "
