GW REIDO Hosts Third Annual Real Estate Case Competition


On Saturday, March 28, 2009, GW's Real Estate Investment and Development Organization held its third annual real estate case competition sponsored by Edens & Avant and the George Washington University Student Activities Council.  The competition began in January, 2009 with entries from 16 MBA programs from around the country.  The final six teams competed at George Washington's School of Business in front of an esteemed panel of judges from various sectors of the industry:

Steve Earle - PN Hoffman & Associates
Jeff Kaufman - Edens & Avant
Paul Pascal - Pascal & Weiss, P.C.
Jason Paxton - BB&T
Fred Weiner - Gallaudet University
Patricia Zingsheim - DC Office of Planning

The six final teams competing on March 28 were Georgetown University, University of Maryland, University of North Carolina, University of Pennsylvania, Texas A&M University, and the University of Washington.  The top three teams were chosen following six impressive, well-researched and in-depth presentations and are as follows:

1st Place: Georgetown University (Prize of $10,000)
2nd Place: University of Washington (Prize of $2,500)
3rd Place: University of Maryland (Prize of $1,000)
