Benefits of Registering a Student Organization
Registering your organization annually with the Student Activities Center offers many benefits to groups at GW. Listed below are just a few!
1. Recognition status from the University.
2. Ability to reserve space on campus (*charges may sometimes apply).
3. Upon completion of registration, all registered orgs are assigned a Student Advising Team Advisor.
4. Access to co-sponsorships granted by eight different sources.
5. Participation opportunities in Student Organization Fairs during Welcome Week, Welcome Back Week and Colonial Inauguration.
6. Ability to apply for organization website space, e-mail account, and listserv account.
7. Eligibility for operational funding from Student Association.
8. Eligibility for a Revenue account with the University in your organization's name. The funds in this account roll-over from year to year.
9. Use of the SUMMIT Outdoor Challenge Course, free of charge.
10. Participation in and possible recognition at the annual Excellence in Student Life Awards.
11. Ability to sponsor a speaker, performance or event.
12. The protection of having a full-time staff member to assist you in the contract negotiation process when contracting services from vendors.
13. Gain valuable experience in aspects of leadership, communication, teamwork, etc.
14. Ability to request a mailbox on the 4th floor of the Marvin Center to receive your mail (on a first-come first-served basis).
15. Eligibility to be recognized as a recipient of the Spotlight Award, given monthly to registered organizations at GW.
16. Eligibility to use Ticketmaster to create tickets for an event (*fees apply).
