ONGOING EVENTS

PHSA T-Shirts:

• After years of absence, PHSA T-shirts have re-emerged! Come buy your 2009 PHSA T-shirt today before they sell out.
• The board will be tabling on Mondays through Thursdays in the Ross Hall Lobby between classes until the T-shirts are sold out.
• Shirts are $10 each, and all proceeds go towards subsidizing future PHSA events in order to make them more affordable for you!

UPCOMING EVENTS

2009 Student Health Lobby Day

• What: Are you upset about the state of our nation’s discourse on healthcare? The Wilderness Society is pulling together teams of students to lobby key Senate offices in order to highlight the importance of climate change on public health.
• If you are interested, please come to an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6 at 1pm in the Starbucks inside the ground floor of the GWU Hospital.
• If you are unable to attend this meeting, please email jp_leous@tws.org for more information.

SPHHS Practicum and CE Blogs

• We will be posting the blog of Shivani Murthy on the PHSA Website. Log on http://studentorgs.gwu.edu/phsa and find out about her interesting adventures while doing her practicum in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
• We are also using this opportunity to invite anyone who might be interested in having their practicum experience posted on the website.

PHSA Website Administration Team

• In an effort to improve the effectiveness of information dissemination through the PHSA website, we are inviting students to join the PHSA Website Administration team.
  
• This opportunity would allow you to get involved with ensuring provision of quality, timely information on the site; And not just info about the activities with PHSA, but public health news, and even DMV events!
  
• If you have a knack for being in-the-know and would love to help empower other students with opportunities, we're looking for you!

AIDS Walk Washington DC 2009

• Thank you so much to everyone who came out this past weekend with the SPHHS AIDS Walk Team to support this worthwhile cause! Pictures are available on the Facebook group page. You can follow the Photo Gallery link on this website.
  
• If you have pictures from the event that you would not mind sharing, please email them to aaminaei@gwmail.gwu.edu so we can post them on the PHSA Facebook site and show everyone what we're about!
