We are pleased that you are considering joining Phi Sigma Pi. We want you to remember that this is a mutual selection process: we choose you and you choose us. With this in mind, we want to offer you the following tips and suggestions so you can make the best impression and have the best rush experience possible.

*Meet as many brothers as you can. The more brothers you meet, the more people can vouch for you when the selection process rolls around.

*Learn as much as you can about the brothers and the fraternity. You can’t make a decision about whether PSP is for you if you don’t know as much about it as you can. You will come to a quick conclusion that the fraternity has many different faces with many different interests and backgrounds. That is the reason why many of our brothers joined in the first place. So, on that note...

*Don’t be afraid to ask questions, you never know what you can learn about or learn from a brother and PSP. The brothers want to tell you how wonderful the fraternity is, but they won’t know where to begin if you have nothing to ask. Here are some suggestions:
*What is your favorite thing about PSP?
*Why did you join?
*How long have you been a member?
*What is your favorite PSP memory?
*What sorts of social events/ service events/ scholarship events have you done?

*The meet nights are purely information sessions designed to give you the low-down on what PSP is all about. We understand how asking/answering the same questions can get a little mundane and annoying, so don’t let the meet nights be the sole basis of your judgment whether or not PSP is for you. Come to our events. That is where you’ll see what PSP is really all about.

*Don’t be afraid to talk about yourself a little bit. The brothers want to know about what makes you special and unique, and why you will make a great brother. However, don’t just talk about yourself; ask brothers about themselves and their interests. You may have more in common than you think!

*Be on time. Tardiness is disrespectful to the brotherhood. If you must be late, e-mail us at rushpspbm@gmail.com.

*Come to as many events as you can. We understand that you are busy, but the more events that you come to, the more you get to know the brothers and other rushees.

*This is not the time to be on the phone. Please turn off your cell phone during events.

*Approach brothers around campus. If you see a brother between classes (or even in your class), don’t be afraid to approach him or her just to say hey. Brothers are very flattered when rushees have the initiative to seek them out and informally chat.

*Have fun. There should be no alternative. The rush process is a great time to get to know a lot of people, so make the most of it!
