Because of the importance of rituals, if you miss one you are automatically on probation until you make it up, but all other types of probation either begin at the end of the semester or as soon as you are no longer able to fulfill the requirement. As soon as you make up your requirement, you will be taken off probation and may vote. Please note that you may not go inactive if you are on probation.
If you do not pay your dues or if you are on probation for 2 semesters in a row, there will automatically be a motion for your expulsion by the penultimate meeting of the 2nd semester of probation. If you are on probation, you are required not only to fulfill all requirements in the next semester, but also to make up any missed requirements from the previous semester in order to get off probation. If you fail to do so, your probation will be extended for another semester and you will be eligible for expulsion.
