Join OLAS and OutCrowd along with other student groups for a discussion panel on sexuality in different cultures, especially that of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals in minority populations here in the United States.

Study Abroad Information Session

A representative from the study abroad office will be coming in to talk about some things you'll need to know if you want to take the initial steps toward this great experience!  We'll also have guest students talk about their experiences abroad!  Plus, FREE FOOD!

Canned Food Drive
Ongoing until December 12th
In conjunction with Lambda Upsilon Lambda and Lambda Pi Chi with support from Sigma Lambda Upsilon
Drop off cans at: MSSC (2127 G Street) or at the OLAS General Body Meeting
Donated cans will go to Mary's Center to help the needy this holiday season.  For each can you donate, you'll receive a raffle ticket and will be entered into a drawing for a $70 gift certificate to the GW Bookstore and two tickets to Noche de Cultura 2006!

Voices from the Island of Freedom: Violations of Human Rights in Cuba
Thursday, December 8th, 6:00pm - 7:15pm
Multicultural Student Services Center (2127 G ST, NW), Room 209
Come out learn about human right violations that have occurred
and are currently occuring in Cuba.  OLAS is putting on an
informational panel and art exhibit open to the entire GW community.
Activites include:
Speaker: Frank Calzon, Executive Director, A Center for a Free Cuba,
Short Film: Voices from the Island of Freedom, a collection of
testimonies of Castro's former prisoners and the families of present
political prisoners,
Exhibit of Cuban Artwork depicting violations in Cuba
We will be serving refreshments and snacks.  It is a free event!


Movie Night

Partnership for Public Service Focus Group

Real Questions, Real Answers: Cultural Diversity in Today's Workforce
Join a panel of professionals as they respond to the questions you want answered but may be afraid to ask: from dress attire, language, and hair styles, to the impact of your gender and color and its relevance in the workforce. Come by and enjoy an evening discussion.  Light refreshments will be provided.
Cosponsored by the Black Student Union (BSU), the Organization of Latino American Students (OLAS), and the Multicultural Student Services Center (MSSC).
