Every year the Señoritas strive to incorporate the GW community in literacy awareness, our national philanthropy.  Books for all ages are welcomed and requested! Anyone who donates will be entered in a raffle to win a $25 gift certificate to the GW Bookstore!

At 21 percent, the national Latino high school dropout rate is more than twice the national average at 10 percent (PEW Hispanic Center Fact Sheet, January 2004). Help us fight this problem.  For those interested in arriving together, we will be meeting at the Foggy Bottom Metro Station at 7:15 AM.

Piri Thomas is an author, poet, activist, and storyteller.  His writing sheds light on the stories of Latinos who have been swept under the rug, fallen through the cracks, and experienced injustice.  His work and personal story are an excellent complement to this years LHC theme.
