Below, you'll find a short description of GW Net Impact members' experience and interests along with a link to their full CVs.


Giuliana Canessa is a first year MBA student studying Finance at the GWU School of Business and the current President of GW Net Impact chapter.  She has worked for four years in corporate responsibility (CR) strategic planning and research, analyzing companies' social and environmental performance, creating innovative action plans, and doing social reporting. At present, Giuliana has a strong interest in applying her quantitative and analytical skills to develop sustainability strategies in diverse arenas.

Robert M. Joppa is a first year, full-time MBA student at the George Washington University, concentrating in International Business and Marketing and focusing on renewable energy.  For about six years, Robert was a contractor at the US Department of Energy doing data analysis and web publishing.  Prior to his position at the DOE, he was a Peace Corps Environmental Futures Volunteer, teaching and applying sustainable agroforestry and permaculture techniques in Zimbabwe.  Now, Robert would like to combine his DOE and Peace Corps experiences into a rewarding career in sustainable energy resources.  Additionally, he is proficient in both the German language and culture and is familiar with many other cultures throughout the world.  Thus, Robert would be an ideal candidate for international work.

Violeta Gutierrez is a food industries engineer with a Masters degree in Agribusiness from the Agrarian University in Lima, Peru.  Currently, she is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration with a field of concentration in International Business at the George Washington University.  Prior to the MBA, she worked for 6 years as Marketing Agricultural Specialist in the U.S. Embassy in Peru gaining strengths in food and agricultural business practices, trade advocacy, trade policy, capacity building programs, marketing management and market research.  She also marketed successfully several U.S. products to Peru. 
In addition, she is bilingual (Spanish – English), proactive, a good team builder and player, and feels comfortable working in cross cultural and challenging environments.  Ms. Gutierrez is interested in developing her career towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) positions or sustainable development projects in order to create positive social impact.
