Guide to Recycling

Labeled Recycling Bins are located in every building on campus.

Bottles & Cans

PLASTICS, GALSS, ALUMINUM, STEEL & TIN*

1. PLASTIC BOTTLES- #1 and #2 only (look on bottom of bottle)
(NO tubs - like butter or hummus containers)

2. GLASS BOTTLES – all glass, brown, green or clear

3. ALUMINUM, STEEL, AND TIN CANS (all)

*Items must be rinsed out and clean – free of food and liquids before being placed into the appropriate recycling bins. Please remove and throw away bottle tops.


Paper & Books

MIXED PAPER, BOOKS & NEWSPAPER*

1. NEWSPAPER all newsprint, NO glossy paper (NO magazines)

2. MIXED PAPER any color (NO staples or spiral notebooks)

3. BOOKS & PHONE BOOKS (paperback only – NO hardcover books) may be placed in Newspaper Recycling Bins

*Paper must be free of food and other contaminants like liquid or oil stains before being placed into the appropriate recycling bins. Please remove staples!


Cardboard & Cartons


CORRUGATED CARDBOARD (with ridges) & CARTONS*

1. CARDBOARD all corrugated cardboard except pizza boxes

2. CARTONS – NO cartons of any kind (NO milk cartons, etc.)

*Cardboard must be free of food and other contaminants like liquid or oil stains before being placed into the appropriate recycling bins. Please place in appropriate cardboard bins!
