Join a GW Net Impact Initiative

Although GW Net Impact members are united by our shared goal of using business for  social good, we still have different interests and expertise. Summer Fellowship Fund
Help fellow and future classmates pursue their passions by working to raise funds and/or generate revenue to fill the coffers of the Summer Fellowship Fund for students who choose public interest internships that are low or unpaid. In 2007, Net Impact was able to help one GW Business student work on educational outreach on renewable energy, and help another GW Business school student work at the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Help make this Fund a lasting opportunity for future generations at GW!  Check out the photos from our fundraiser.

Volunteer

Educated Consumer Project (ECP) is seeking applicants for volunteer Classroom     Leaders for its Fall 2007 Financial Literacy Program. ECP ( www.ecponline.org) is     a non-profit organization in DC that brings financial literacy programs to public         high schools and charter schools in DC.  The need for these programs is clear, as     fewer than one-third of DC-area high schools have any financial education classes     for their students.

For the program this past fall - sessions were concurrently taught at McKinley Tech   HS, as well as Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools, and School Without Walls     - ECP has organized a series of sessions on topics ranging from credit cards and     banks to savings and investing.

Classroom Leaders will be tasked with teaching the material to students in             grades 10 through 12.   ECP will provide training sessions for Classroom Leaders     on the curriculum materials, which we have developed with our institutional             partners.   This is an unpaid position, however, travel is reimbursed and it is an         excellent opportunity to make an impact on the lives of local high school                 students.

For additional information on this opportunity, please contact Jenn Garner at  jgarner@gwu.edu.
