2009 GW Net Impact Board
Co - Presidents Ari Isaacman & Andy Ludwig
Responsible for leading the GWU Net Impact Chapter, developing the strategic plan, creating synergies with other GW clubs, schools and external initiatives and advocating for a curriculum review; serves as the main liaison to Net Impact Central, GW faculty advisors and supports general NI activities.
Ari a dual MA/MBA degree at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs and the Business School. She is interested in the fields of microfinance and international development, specifically mobilizing for the rights of women and children.
Andy is a Global MBA student concentrating in Environmental Policy Management and focusing on the solar power industry.
VP of Administration and Finance Lauren Keegan Develops and administers GW Net Impact's budget and ensures the organization remains in good standing with the University; monitors both incoming and outgoing cash flows; keeps current with University financial regulations. Assists other board members with key priorities as needed. Lauren is a full-time MBA student concentrating in Tourism and Hospitality Management, specifically sports management.
VP of Social Events and Fundraising Dawn Marie Mancini
VP of Community Engagement Danielle Bash Oversees Service Corps, which partners DC-area graduate students with local nonprofit organizations to provide pro-bono consulting services. Implementing a Board Fellows program where GW graduate students have the opportunity to gain meaningful nonprofit corporate governance experience while working with the organization on a specially designed project. Coordinates GW Net Impact community service events, including Junior Achievement volunteers. Danielle is a first-year full-time MBA student concentrating on International Business. Upon graduation, Danielle would like to pursue a career in international development and microfinance.
VP of Career Development Lina Ha-Stone Leads and assists other board members in creating and organizing career development opportunities for all Net Impact members. Responsible for hosting guest speakers and organizing career panels, such as the It's Just Lunch series. Lina is currently a first-year full-time MBA student, concentrating in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. She is interested in pursuing a career in microfinance and is also an Associate Board member of Women Advancing Microfinance (WAM) DC and is currently interning with Save the Children.
VP of Environmental Initiatives Eric Heisman Responsible for campus greening/climate change initiatives. Facilitates dialogue between local organizations, the GW campus, and other organizations to actualize change through environmental projects. Concerted effort will be focused on developing and executing new short and long-term project agenda's to benefit the GWU community. Eric is a PMBA candidate with concentrations in Environmental Policy and Entrepreneurship.
VP of Strategic Alliances Alex Chaikin Serves as the point of contact for people and organizations outside of GW Net Impact, including MBAA, other GW Clubs, Net Impact chapters at other schools, the DC Net Impact professional chapter, and special speakers. Currently Alex participates in the Board Fellows Committee and supports ArĂ and Lisa Manning (MBAA) in curriculum change efforts. Alex is currently a first-year full-time MBA student planning to concentrate in Strategic Management and Public Policy. She hopes to work in the community economic development field when she graduates in 2010.
VP of Sustainable Initiatives Brett Baskin
Responsible for outlining a plan of action related to sustainable business practices, building or engineering. Facilitates a dialogue between local organizations, the GW campus, and other organizations (non-profit and private) in order to effectively complete sustainable projects. Currently the VP of Sustainable projects is working in conjunction with the VP of Environmental Initiatives to complete a plan of action for a sustainable building project. Brett is in the final semester of his MBA program, and has focused in International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Environmental Policy.
VP of Communications and Membership Sean Skulley Creates awareness of the GW Net Impact chapter by promoting events and initiatives. Responsible for increasing membership by marketing the club to both new and existing students. Responsible for gathering information on job/internship openings and upcoming events and distributing this information to Net Impact members and GWMBA students through our website and monthly newsletters. Sean is in the full-time Global MBA student concentrating in Environmental Policy Management with a focus in emerging renewable energy.
MPA/MPP Liaison Mehreen Hossain Acting as liaison between GW Net Impact and the Public Administration and Public Policy student body, Mehreen hopes to foster stronger ties between the two communities and create collaborative programming around career development and community initiatives. She has been involved with the Board Fellows program and the Service Corps program through Net Impact this past year. Mehreen is an MPA candidate with an interest in international development, microfinance and access to health care.
MTA Liaison Marija Micuda With a desire to diversify and increase NI membership Marija assists with co-hosted student networking opportunities, coordinates with the MTA program and its organizations to encourage involvement of current and potential members. Marija is on the executive board of Tourism for Tomorrow and is thus putting effort into developing a strong NI and TFT partnership. Marija is currently pursuing an MTA degree with a concentration in Sustainable Destination Management.
