Executive Committe Chair Positions!
NAACP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CHAIR DESCRIPTIONS
Health Chair
The Health Chair works to promote, protect, and maintain the health of minorities. This chair advocates for equal access to health education and treatment, and sponsors health-related activities such as health forums, fairs, and workshops highlighting issues of importance to minorities.
Housing Chair
The Housing Chair informs and educates the GW and greater D.C. community about housing issues facing minorities and ways to overcome them. This chair creates forums which bring to light the housing patterns and conditions of minorities in the community and seeks solutions to the problems community members face.
Labor Chair
The Labor Chair works to unearth injustices experienced by any group of workers in the community. Forums put on by this chair educate the general body about prevalent labor issues and encourages members to join forces to eliminate to this form of injustice.
Press and Publicity Chair
The Press and Publicity Chair is promotes the chapter by creating flyers, palm cards, and electronic invitations for all events. The chair generates awareness about NAACP activities among other student organizations and creates press releases and media advisories for submission to both on-campus and off-campus press.
Political Action Chair
The Political Action Chair seeks to increase registration and voting in the D.C. community and works towards the enactment of legislation designed to improve the educational, political, and economic status of minority groups. This person must remain aware of the legislation supported and opposed by the National Office and inform the general body. This chair works to organize volunteer opportunities with DC and Federal groups which promote engagement in the election process.
