She makes her bed in ivy and lies
on her back. Ghostly white skin
porcelain glows in the thicket.
He moves like a moth hurriedly shifting
closer towards the flame.
And as he pours over her with shadow
she looks up to the sky encrusted with
plush leaves and buds intertwined
foliage darkened by the hour filters
the reflected light from the sun.
She blinks and the light is gone.
Yanique M Revers is a senior at the George Washington University
with a major in English Literature & Creative Writing: concentration
- Poetry. She is from South Orange, New Jersey.

Summer Updates 2009
The Spring 2009 Issue is up and ready to be viewed online!
We hope everyone is a having a fun, successful summer. The first Mortar meeting of the year will be Monday, September 21st.
