Le grand amour Sonja Vitow English
When the sea was born and the world was new, When God sculpted man in his own image, Before the first dawn, star, and cloud Only you and I existed between the sky and the water.
Everything was new; you lent me your big coat beneath the first rain. The enormous storm soaked us, you kissed me, trembling. Savages, you and I, we lived like animals.
The world became bigger, the cities more populated. You took me by the hand to reassure me. Together, we can face this big world.
The universe is always growing, The long roads of life are our big journey. My love and I, we are vagabonds.

Sylvia Plath

“I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a date on a tombstone.”
