Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is a Greek letter, secret,
college, social fraternity. It is composed of men who share similar
ideals of friendship, truth, honor, and loyalty. The Fraternity's
ideals are expressed in the written words and symbols of a secret
ritual. These ideals and members' ability to maintain the visions of
the Fraternity's founders are the great moral legacy of Pi Kappa Alpha.
Pi Kappa Alpha was founded at the University of Virginia on March 1,
1868. At the time, the University of Virginia was the fifth largest
school in the United States.
On February 22, 1941, the Delta Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha first
came to GW. Now in 2009, the Delta Alpha Chapter will be celebrating
our 5th anniversary since our return in 2004. In our short time here,
our Chapter has become the largest Fraternity on campus, acquired a
house on Townhouse Row and won the Pikus Cup (Fraternity Intramural
League) twice. In addition to that, Delta Alpha has logged over 10,000
of Community Service, had the highest GPA of all fraternities, and
raised over $19,000 for the DC Firefighter's Burn Foundation.
While we are very proud of our accomplishments, we look towards the
future into making Pi Kappa Alpha a long lasting staple of the overall
GW community. Our Chapter's motto is SLAG - Scholars Leaders Athletes
Gentlemen - and the men of Pi Kappa Alpha represent all these values
and are looking for new men to further embody them.
