The Delta Pi Chapter of Sigma Nu at GW is the oldest continuous fraternity on campus! Our Chapter has over 1,000 alumni, more than most other fraternities at GW. The Delta Pi Chapter maintains ties with alumni in a diverse array of fields here in Washington who our members have frequently been known to tap for an internship or job recommendation. Sigma Nu participates in a large number of philanthropic events each year. From swinging hammers for Habitat for Humanity to Hosting Greek Bowl for the American Diabetes Association, we know how to have fun while extending the helping hand. Founded in 1869, Sigma Nu is one of the largest fraternities in the nation and continuing to grow. Today, the number of initiates is nearly 219,000; the number of chapters approaching 270. For a century and a quarter Sigma Nu chapters have shaped the man of integrity. Sigma Nu is the only national fraternity that was founded solely in opposition to hazing. Taken directly from our mission statement, Sigma Nu Fraternity exists to develop ethical leaders inspired by our three founding principles of Love, Honor and Truth.
Sigma Nu Fraternity actively seeks the brightest and best individuals
that will contribute to society, as well as become leaders in their
respective fields. It is the mission of this fraternity to foster this
growth and development among its new candidates as well as its current
brotherhood. We at Sigma Nu hope you will consider our fraternity in
