Grad Speaker is Divisive Choice

In selecting a Commencement speaker, a university should seek to choose an individual who stands above the divides that are too often visible in society. This individual should have the inherent ability to transcend the political, racial and socio-economic differences of a diverse graduating class in order to provide credible words of guidance, inspiration and wisdom. Sadly, in choosing Julian Bond as the keynote speaker at Commencement, our University has failed to do this. [MORE] 3/27/08

DC Federation Named Best State Federation for 2007

Our state federation, the DC Federation of College Republicans, was named the “Best State Federation for 2007” by the College Republican National Committee!  This comes just two years after receiving the “2005 Best Chapter” award from among all the other chapters in the country.

It is because of dedicated and involved members like you that we have achieved this high national recognition.  Your hard work in 2007 campaigning for Bobby Jindal in Louisiana, Jim Ogonowski in Massachusetts, Richard Stuart and numerous other candidates in Virginia as well as your work counter-protesting in the streets of DC, supporting our troops at Walter Reed and activism on campus has made a difference.
