“Let the sunshine in!”

HAIR
By James Rado, Gerome Ragni, and Galt MacDermot
Directed by Ronnie Solevo
December 6-9
Lisner Downstage

When it arrived on Broadway in 1968, HAIR revolutionized musical theater, speaking to a younger generation with their music, their voices, and their concerns. Coined “the American Tribal Love Rock Musical” by its writers, HAIR follows the lives and struggles of a tribe of hippies. Centered on ideals of love, freedom, peace, equality and happiness, HAIR is as pertinent today as it was forty years ago.
