Home > About FPP > FPP in the Community
Forbidden Planet Productions believes that being active in the GW and Foggy Bottom communities is just as important as our productions. We feel that being a student orginization gives us a unique opportunity to use our resources and talents to benifit campus and community causes.  FPP regularly participates in several community events:
  • In fall 2007, FPP organized a team to participate in AIDS Walk Washington, an annual walk-a-thon benefiting Whitman-Walker Clinic. This year's AIDS Walk raised more money than ever before, and FPP was proud to be a part of the effort to fight AIDS in Washington D.C.
  • FPP participated for the fifth time this fall in the Foggy Bottom Block Party, which is held annually by the University's Office of Foggy Bottom Affairs and the FRIENDS community group. The event welcomes students and area residents to promote town-gown relations and local businessess and originizations. FPP showcased our talented cast of HAIR, who had a featured performance spot in the afternoon, and sang "Manchester, England" "Good Morning Starshine," and "Air."
  • This spring, FPP will perform Tony Kushner's Angels in America in four nights, with parts one and two each being performed twice. In doing so, we plan to raise AIDS awareness not only with the show's message, but also by donating proceeds from each performance to the Whitman-Walker Clinic.

Welcome Back!
Now that we've all had some time to settle into new schedules, with classes and new living situations, FPP would like to officially welcome you all to the Fall 2008 season! Things are already well under way- We hosted our general body meeting last week, FPPalooza, and we were so excited to meet tons of new and exciting people interested in FPP.
Last we also held Rocky Horror 2008 auditions which resulted in a fabulous cast.
Coming up this week are Skin of Our Teeth auditions (Sept. 15 and 16) and next week will be auditions for both of our Fall musicals, Godspell and bare: the musical (Sept 23 and 24).
Get ready, get excited.. yayy FPP!
