OneVoice Biographies
Meet Shadha Musallam and Yaniv Rivlin, activists from Palestine and Israel who will speak at campuses across DC September 4th to 11th, 2007, challenging students to be a part of the solution.
Born on a Kibbutz in the north of Israel and raised in the Golan Heights, 25-year-old Yaniv is completing a B.A. in political science and sociology at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Yaniv joined OneVoice after his service in the IDF during the second intifada because he believes that “the real chance of solving the conflict lies in the people’s power.” Meeting OneVoice activists on the Palestinian side has served to strengthen his passion to work for a negotiated resolution and his belief that it is indeed possible. Yaniv is one of the founders of the OneVoice chapter in Jerusalem.
20-year-old Shadha was born in Tunis and raised in Jericho; she is studying for a B.A. in environmental studies from Al-Quds University in Abu Dis. Shadha speaks fluent Italian and French in addition to Arabic and English, a great asset at some of the international conferences on art, activism and the environment that she has attended as a representative of Palestinian youth. Shadha has been a primary activist in this past year’s What Are You Willing To Do campaign as part of OneVoice Palestine.
