GWUCK is made up of several different committees, each helping to promote the ideals of Circle K:  service, leadership, and fellowship.  Committees are always in need of members, so join as many as you would like!  For more information on a committee, or to join, please contact us at cki@gwu.edu.  The committees are: 

Club & Kiwanis Relations (CKR)

One of the great things about Circle K, over some of the other service clubs on campus, is the wonderful connection we have with the Kiwanis family.  This year we will be helping with chartering a Key Club at a neighboring high school, thereby helping students do service, and members of this committee will be in the thick of it!  This committee plans joint projects with our sponsoring Kiwanis Club and arranges for members to go to Kiwanis meetings (where there are useful job contacts!).

District and International Initiatives (DII)

Another great thing about Circle K is that we are a part of a district, consisting of clubs from all over the region.  This committee plans projects with the district theme, which is Children in the Arts this year.

Fundraising

This committee raises money for many worthy causes.  Help decide which fall fundraisers to do as well as where the proceeds go to.  Past Fundraising events include Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, World AIDS Day, Adopt-A-Family, JDRF Gift-Wrapping, and BBQ Fundraiser for March of Dimes and Virginia Tech Memorial Fund.

Membership Recruitment & Development (MR&D)

This committee is for all of you outgoing and friendly people!  MR&D coordinates membership reward initiatives and helps to plan our Induction Ceremony in the Fall and End of the Year Banquet in the Spring.

Public Relations (PR)

This very important committee is in charge of getting new people to come to meetings and events.  This committee is also in charge of designing and distributing posters and palm cards, as well as other PR functions such as chalking and setting up our banner.

Scrapbook

The scrapbook committee's mission is to help GWUCK win the scrapbook award at District Convention once again!  (We got 1st place last year!) This committee is looking for creative people to make our record of the year.

Interested in helping coordinate our events with the events of other service orgs from around the school?  Then join the SOR committee!  You'll be able to work with peers from Circle K and other service groups!
