Universities Involved

Due to the success of our first book drives, our student organization has decided to expand our program to other universities in order to collect and deliver more books to Africa.  Our goal is to create a regional web of universities involved in the educational process in the continent; coordinating not only the collection of books, but also activities such as Africa Week,  bringing speakers to campus, and even sponsoring trips to the African continent.

These are the universities involved in the Fall 2005 Book Drive:

The George Washington University

James Madison University

American University

Michigan State University

Howard University

We are currently looking to open chapters or begin partnerships with the following universities:

Georgetown University

George Mason University

University of Maryland

University of Michigan
University of Arizona

If you are a student or an administrator from one of those universities, or from another university interested in getting involved, please fill the following form.  Our President, Margaret Formoe, will get back to you shortly with information on how to start a chapter of Books for Africa at your university

You Can Do It!

Organizing a book drive is quite simple, we can help in every step.  Here is a short list of steps to take to organize a Book Drive.

Steps for Holding a Book Drive

One of the first steps in setting up your group is establishing a constitution.  We have made it easier for you and created this guide with the major sections you will need to follow; take a look!
