Mount Vernon Programming Council Co-Sponsorship

The Mount Vernon Programming Council Co-Sponsorship Fund was developed with Mount Vernon Campus Life to support co-curricular programs, activities and student life on the Mount Vernon Campus. By establishing this fund, the Programming Council and Mount Vernon Campus Life (MVCL) seek to promote the Mount Vernon campus to all GW students, faculty and staff as a unique and contributing part of The George Washington University. In addition, the Programming Council will use this co-sponsorship fund to support programs and events that encourage the collaboration between registered student organizations and the student-run Programming Council.

Members of the Programming Council will be responsible for reviewing proposals and will make appropriate co-sponsorship selections in consultation with the MVCL staff. All groups must meet the following criteria to be considered for co-sponsorship funds.

1.
Co-sponsorship funds are available to registered GW student organizations and other GW affiliated student groups.

2. The maximum request per program is $500.00.

3. Each group requesting funds must make a 5-10 minute presentation to the Programming Council. If you are a registered student group you must go through the co-sponsorhip web process for registered student organizations (
Co-sponsorships for student organizations).

4. All programs receiving co-sponsorship must originate or be held on the Mount Vernon Campus and open to all GW students.

5. The programs must be innovative and should not duplicate or compete with other major University events.

6. The Programming Council reserves the right to request changes in any program before releasing funds.

7. The Programming Council must be noted as a co-sponsor in all phases of the program's promotion. All forms of advertising and promotion must be pre-approved by the Programming Council and MVCL (this includes emails).

8. All advertising must be posted or distrubuted on the Mount Vernon Campus 7 days prior to the event.

9. Co-sponsorship is exclusively for non-profit organizations. Any profit realized from a Programming Council co-sponsored event must be justified in writing during the program proposal and presentation.

10. Any changes to a program (changes from the proposal) must be approved by the Programming Council. Changes without approval could result in denial of co-sponsorship money.

11. A final budget for the event must be submitted within two weeks after the completion of the program.  If granted funds are not claimed within 1 month after the event, the funds will no longer be available.
